Official: Russia to postpone payroll tax deadline for some firms

MOSCOW, Apr 29 (PRIME) -- The Russian government is preparing an order postponing the payroll tax payment for the companies that sell goods on the domestic market and for several other categories of firms for a total of 1.6 trillion rubles due in April–September, the office of Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova said in a statement Friday.

"An increase in the number of organizations that stated changes in the forms of employment: downtime, shortened work days or weeks, unpaid vacations and other, continued to increase last week as well. In this context, as Tatyana Golikova said, on orders of the country's president, the government is preparing an order to change the payroll deadline in 2022," the statement read.

According to the statement, the number of registered unemployed people remains on the level of the start of March.
